There's something to be said for being recognized - and its human nature to be wanted and popular.

Re: 10 Reasons Why Twitter Is So Popular

@Jolechrist ... thanks!

Re: 10 Reasons Why Twitter Is So Popular

@Ramarajan V, thanks my friend. Like anything out there it's not long before they show up and ruin it for everybody. I also see traffic coming from Twitter and some of them end up subscribing to my newsfeed as well. So for me the positive far outweighs any negatives. I've mentioned before that it is a sociological fact that there is a limited number of 'friends' that we can actually engage , so I agree the numbers game is just an ego thing and nothing more. We shouldn't get caught up in accumulating a lot of followers and unfortunately it's a few a-listers who encourage such a juvenile mentality.

Re: 10 Reasons Why Twitter Is So Popular

My long day of doubt is cleared now after reading your post. Yes, according to your reasons Twitter is tops among all social sites. Good.

Re: 10 Reasons Why Twitter Is So Popular

"Because of Twitter’s 140 character limitation you can be excused for bad judgement grammar and abusing abbreviations."

Well Said BB. I liked that point very much.

Re: 10 Reasons Why Twitter Is So Popular

I use Twitter, however I have mixed thoughts about it. Most people chase the numbers, and there is a limit of how many people you can actually follow and keep up with.

I tend to follow, only people who are in my niche and interests and hobbies. I spend a lot of time weeding out the spammers, and the people who never return comments back to me.

I do see some traffic from posting my tweets on Twitter, however I do not see much of people responding to my tweets. I believe that is due too the fact that people have too many followers and can't keep up.
