On the other hand, if you have opted-out and unsubscribed from their e-mail, but still keep receiving their e-mail, then that is definitely spam. I'm still having trouble explaining this to clerics at sunnipath.com
If there is a service, that gives no option to not receive e-mail, then any e-mail from them is also spam ! Ex. Posterous e-mails you back follow-up comments you made on any Posterous tumblelogs. But I cannot find a link anywhere to opt-out or unsubscribe !

There is no option on FriendFeed not to receive any e-mail from other users.
1. Send me email when people subscribe to my FriendFeed
2. Send me email when people comment on my feed and I haven't logged in recently
But where's the option for turning off solicitations?
So to stop it I have to completely turn of all notifications. I don't think so Jaffer. That's unacceptable.
I suppose I could also set up a filter in my email to automatically eat these guys. But then again I shouldn't have to should I?
Just because I signed up for FriendFeed didn't automatically give them a license to harass me. Or did it?
PS I have someone helping me to download the Blokester widget on Blog-Blond at long last! I've wanted it for SO long, and my dream may finally may be coming true. Ya see, I need help in this tech area, and I've found a great gal who is helping me spiff up all my blogs which were way overdue for spiffing!

In fact, auto opt-ins are not only wrong, but may very well be against spam laws...whether there is an opt-out feature or not.
Kinda like the dolts that add you to their list without permission, then add an opt-out close at the end (which you have to do manually), like their doing you a favor.
If I have the time, and they catch me in the right mood, both types get a reply from me....I rarely hear back a second time ;)
