Yeah, I believe they just stuck that option in the other day.
I don't need it really for my blogs that use a custom domain, but maybe it will help everyone else.

Blog Bloke - I have set up my blog's custom domain name, selected the above mentioned option, but the non-www version still is not redirecting. Any suggestions?
Cory, give your settings 24 hours or more to propagate. If it still doesn't work then you can use my method that I explain in setting up your blogger custom domain:
That way you are using your domain host for the redirect. I prefer my method but I wouldn't use both ways at the same time because there could be a conflict.

Blogger's custom domain settings and GoDaddy are giving me a headache. To put it mildly.
I emailed GoDaddy and they originally told me that the problem was with Google's server. This didn't make sense to me, so I did some research and couldn't figure anything out.
I called GoDaddy last night and spent about 30 minutes on the phone with them. They told me to:
point the CNAME www to @ point the host @ to 64.202.189.170
After all of this went through, when typing in my domain (any of the three, www, non www, or the blogger subdomain) I got the Blogger redirect message asking if I really wanted to redirect. I clicked Yes and got sent back to the same message. Endless loop of death.
I disabled Blogger's forwarding to the custom domain name. This made all three domains work but now I have two problems:
- each domain displays the website, but they all show as separate domains in the address bar.
- I disappeared from the search engines. WTF? Analytics shows 1 search hit from Google, where I had hundreds before.
Can anyone help me...and, no, telling me to switch to WP is not helping...sorry.

No, No, and NO! Did I say No???
Don't listen to those bozos at GoDaddy Cory. They don't understand how Google's redirect works. I'm the first and only one who figured this out and hundreds of happy customers can't be wrong.
I understand it's frustrating but you need to start from the beginning again and make sure you do each step in my instructions.
Forget about using Blogger's redirect mentioned in this post. Do it according to my instructions here:
Carefully go over every step again and make sure your don't miss a thing. It will work!

Hi, I'm having various issues getting my site to do exactly what I want it to do. I bought a domain and hosting on GoDaddy.com, and changed the cname info so it goes to my blogspot blog. The only problem is, if I want to do additional pages in the folder on my godaddy site, like a /about or /contact, that page is shown as not existing, presumably because it is on godaddy rather than on blogspot where my cname is redirected. How can I fix this?
I ask that here because there was also a post you mentioned in a comment above that I'm hoping may give me other useful information, but it is no longer at the link you mentioned, and I can't find it. Do you have the new link? Here is the item in question:

I'm having the same issue with the redirecting loop of horror. (Blogspot redirecting message- click yes to redirect...then the same message pops up) My site is hosted through BlueDomino & I followed the directions from Blogger in order to make a CNAME file pointing to a google site. Blue Domino says everything looks fine on their end...meanwhile, I'm pulling my hair out over here b/c I can't access my blog! Please help!
BB - you are simply amazing. I don't understand why you understand this and GoDaddy doesn't, but it's simply the truth. I followed your directions and it took me all of about five minutes. Everything is fine, now, and for some reason I don't understand, the search engines picked me back up, so ... I don't get it, but it works.
Hmmm, it's not working for me. I used your method (in the other post, but those comments are now closed) to the letter and it's been well over 24 hours - going on 3 days. Any idea? I've done it exactly as your instructions and screen shots showed - everything looks as though it should work. I'm stumped.

Well... it works so in a case like yours I would contact your domain host provider because it might not have propagated and ask them to force it through, OR undo everything and start over from the beginning again and make sure you carefully follow every step.
If at first you don't succeed -- perseverance accomplishes much.

Sorry, but I had to remove your last comment because the link that you referenced will confuse my readers. But I will say this. If you are using Google Apps for your domain you must disable it before Blogger will allow you to publish. This is a well-known documented bug-a-boo and I'm assuming that was the case for you. If you have corrected it following my tutorial should work for you now. Cheers!

I was wondering if you can expand a bit on some ramifications such as: 1. New links to the new domain (do they add up with the old ?) 2. Feedburner feeds - what are the necessary updates? 3. Technorati ? 4. Search results drop?

When I set up my Domain Name (www.agoodhusband.net) everything was fine, except that agoodhusband.net wasn't forwarding to www.agoodhusband.net.

Now what if i was to redirect the blogspot to http://www.zeenatboutique.com/blog to host my blog spot is it possible..
I tested the subdomain http://blog.chicstyler.com/ and that works fine.
